Welcome to 3 PPCLI

Located at Edmonton Garrison in Edmonton Alberta. The Third Battalion, Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry (3 PPCLI) is the only light infantry battalion in western Canada. As an infantry battalion, our role is to close with and destroy the enemy. As a light infantry battalion, we are trained to do this through a variety of insertion methods (parachute, helicopter, vehicle, boat, and most importantly by foot) and in a variety of complex terrain (e.g. urban, mountains) where it is difficult for mechanized forces to operate.

3PPCLI will generate light infantry forces optimized for full-spectrum operations in complex terrain in order to prepare operationally ready and cohesive task elements for domestic and international employment.
