A Company (A Coy) is currently filling the role of Jump Company in 3 PPCLI. This past summer A Coy conducted Exercise Spartan CRC where the company conducted numerous parachute jumps throughout the middle of August, ending with a water jump into Lake Wabamun that was shown on national TV. A Coy has also conducted several “Soldier for a Day” activities with local Edmontonians. These days were conducted to show our appreciation for the hard work and support that various Edmonton based companies and individuals have shown the battalion. The “Soldier for a Day” activities included Rappelling, Jumping out of the Parachute Simulation Tower, Weapons ranges, and obstacle courses. Throughout the fall the members of A Company will be conducting individual training all across the country. Everything from LAV Driver courses to Military freefall Parachutist courses will be conducted and will ensure that A Company is ready to begin conducting collective training in the winter in order to prepare for the stand up of TF 1-11.

Combat Support is home to Reconnaissance Platoon, Weapons Platoon, Signals Platoon, Sniper Group, Military Police Section and Battalion Headquarters. During tactical operations, Combat Support's platoons and sections act independently. At that time, the platoons operate directly for the Commanding Officer. The platoons are manned by senior soldiers, who have proven themselves in a rifle company, and have acquired additional training and skills. Although Combat Support is a large company, it may number up to 200 soldiers on operations, it is seldom complete. Elements of Combat Support are frequently detached to support other Battalion sub-units' tasks; be it parachute insertions, convoy escorts, defensive operations, or offensive operations. Flexibility, initiative and the ability to act independently are what allow all soldiers of Combat Support Company to achieve mission-success. Combat Support’s main effort over the next year includes reconstituting both Reconnaissance Platoon and Sniper Group, as well as preparations for future deployment on TF 1-11.
Administration Company is responsible for the provision of Integral Combat Service Support to the Battalion. The Company is composed of Transport Platoon, Logistics Platoon, Maintenance Platoon, the Battalion Orderly Room, Company Headquarters and the Construction Workshop. Administration Company employs soldiers from a wide variety of trade groups, including: infantrymen, supply technicians, clerks, maintainers, mobile support equipment operators, parachute riggers, and the Padre. In Garrison, the Company provides real time support to routine operations, however, this support capability is completely deployable, and as such all platoons are trained to be self sufficient and capable of providing their own defense in the field. As the lifeline to the Rifle Companies, Administration Company delivers in-mission effect by ensuring all soldiers of the Unit have what they need to fight when they need it the most.
